Do you train AI models on my recordings?

No. Your recordings and transcripts are not used to train our models. We do not sell personal data.

To produce a transcript, your audio is sent to the transcription provider that powers the quality level you chose. That is the only place it goes, and it goes there to do one job.

How long do you keep the audio?

The transcript stays as long as you keep it. The audio file does not.

After a transcript is produced, the original audio is held for 7 days on the free plan and 30 days on Unlimited, then deleted. When it goes, the player disappears and the text remains.

This is deliberate. Storing everyone's recordings forever is a cost, but more importantly it is a liability — for us and for you.

What does deleting actually delete?

Deleting a transcript removes the text and the stored audio together. There is no separate step and no archive you have to remember to clear.

Backups and server logs may hold a copy for a short while afterwards; those expire on their own schedule.

Who can see a transcript?

Only you, until you decide otherwise.

A share link makes one transcript readable by anyone holding the address — no account needed. It is read-only: the reader cannot edit, delete or download the audio.

What about connected apps?

When you connect WhoScribe to ChatGPT or another assistant, that app gets read access only. It can search and read your transcripts. It cannot upload files, edit text or delete anything.

You can see every connected app in your profile and cut off its access in one click, without changing your password.

Who owns the files?

You do. All rights to your uploads and the transcripts made from them stay with you. You grant us only what running the service requires: storing your files, sending the audio for transcription, producing the transcript and showing it to you.
