Public post or nothing — and why
Instagram decides who can see a post, and that decision holds for us too. If a Reel needs a login, we cannot fetch it — we do not hold anyone’s session and would not use one. So a public post works, a private account does not, and a story that has expired is gone for everyone. If the video is yours and the account is private, the reliable route is to save the file and upload it directly.
Why did a link fail?
Almost always because the account is private or the post was removed. Instagram also rate-limits fetching, so a link that fails once can work a few minutes later.
Can I transcribe my own private Reel?
Not from the link. Save the video from the app and upload the file instead — that path has no access question at all.
Does it separate speakers?
Yes, when people take turns. Each line gets a label and you rename the speakers once.
Somewhere else?
