User research transcription

Discovery calls and usability sessions as text — quotable, searchable across sessions, and shareable with everyone who could not attend.

  • Every quote traceable to the second it was said
  • Search across sessions for the same complaint
  • TXT and DOCX for your analysis tool

The quote is what moves the roadmap

A summary of five interviews persuades nobody; one sentence in a user’s own words persuades a room. Transcripts give you those sentences with a timestamp attached, so when someone asks whether users really said that, you play the line. They also make the sixth session searchable against the first five, which is where a pattern stops being an impression and starts being evidence.

How it works

Three steps to your first transcript

  1. Drop in your file

Audio or video of any length; the free plan transcribes the first 30 minutes of each file. MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, MOV and a dozen more.

  2. Pick the language

Leave the language on automatic or set it for better accuracy. Turn on speaker recognition if you need to know who said what.

  3. Read, edit, export

The transcript opens with clickable timestamps — read it and fix a name straight away. A free account keeps it and exports it as TXT; DOCX, PDF, SRT and VTT come with the unlimited plan.

FAQ

Questions before you upload

Transcribe a file

Can I share sessions with the team?

Export TXT or DOCX and share the file. Because it is text, it lands in a document, a ticket or a research repository without anyone having to sit through the video.

What happens to the recordings?

They are stored for your account alone and are never used to train models. Delete the file and the audio goes with it.

Do I need to upload the video?

Only if you are studying what people did on screen. For what they said, the audio track is enough and uploads faster.

Working in another language?

All of this works in 62 languages. These are the ones asked for most, each with its own page.
