A sermon series, one message at a time

Churches and ministries publish sermons as long videos, often an hour or two including worship, and many have no usable captions. WhoScribe transcribes the audio itself, so captions are not needed, and returns one continuous transcript of the whole service. From there you can export a DOCX for a study guide, ask the built-in chat for the main points and the scripture passages mentioned, or generate chapters for the video description. If you follow a series week by week, follow the channel from a transcript and you get one email when a new long video is posted. One sermon costs $5 to unlock in full, a 3-file pack covers a short series, and Pro at $20 a month is unlimited for ministries that transcribe every week.

How it works

Three steps to your first transcript

  1. Drop in your file

Audio or video of any length; the free plan transcribes the first 15 minutes of each file. MP3, MP4, M4A, WAV, MOV and a dozen more.

  2. Pick the language

Leave the language on automatic or set it for better accuracy. Turn on speaker recognition if you need to know who said what.

  3. Read, edit, export

The transcript opens with clickable timestamps — read it and fix a name straight away. A free account keeps it and exports it as TXT; DOCX, PDF, SRT and VTT come with the unlimited plan.

FAQ

Questions before you upload

Try it on this page

How long can a sermon recording be?

Up to 10 hours per file or link, so a full service with worship and announcements fits in one transcript.

Can I transcribe a sermon from YouTube?

Yes. Paste the video link; captions are not required because the audio is transcribed. For sites that block direct links, download the video and upload the file instead.

How much does it cost?

One payment of $5 unlocks one whole recording, whatever its length, with no subscription. A 3-file pack and an unlimited monthly plan are also available.

Which languages work?

More than 90 spoken languages, including Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, French and Haitian Creole. Choose the language before you start if the sermon switches between languages.

Can I get sermon notes or a summary?

Yes. Every transcript has a chat and one-click summary, study notes and chapters, based on the text of the sermon.

Can I try it first?

Yes. The recording is transcribed before you pay. The first 5 minutes are readable with no account and the first 15 minutes with a free account.
