How much does one file cost?
One payment of $5 unlocks one file, in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, the EU, Australia, Japan and other high-income countries. In most other countries the same unlock is $3, and in Brazil it is R$16.90. The amount is shown in your own currency on the file before you pay. Prices as of 4 October 2026.
Does a long file cost more?
No. The payment unlocks the whole file, whatever its length, up to the 10-hour limit per file. A three-hour recording costs the same as a thirty-minute one.
Is there really no subscription?
Yes. It is a single charge for a single file. Nothing renews, there is no trial that converts and there is nothing to cancel. You do not need an account before paying; one is created from the email you enter at checkout so you can come back to the transcript.
Can I see the result before I pay?
Yes. The file is transcribed first. You read the first 5 minutes with no account, or the first 15 minutes with a free account, and you decide after seeing your own recording as text.
How does this compare with other pay-as-you-go transcription?
Pay-as-you-go services usually charge by the hour of audio. Sonix lists $10 per hour and Maestra $12 per 60 minutes (their published prices, checked 4 October 2026), so a two-hour recording costs $20 or $24 there and $5 here. Many other tools, such as Otter, Happy Scribe, Notta and Transkriptor, sell monthly plans rather than a single file.
What do I get for the payment?
The complete transcript of that file with speaker labels and timestamps, export to TXT, DOCX, PDF, SRT and VTT, translation of the transcript, and the AI tools under it: a chat that answers questions about the recording and one-click blog post, study notes and chapters.
What if I have a lot of files?
Then a plan is cheaper. Pro is $20 a month, or $120 a year, for unlimited transcription with files up to 10 hours each. Paying per file makes sense for one or a few recordings.
Which files and links work?
Audio and video uploads in the common formats (MP3, M4A, WAV, MP4, MOV and others), and links from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, SoundCloud and Google Drive. Over 90 spoken languages are supported.
