Who this covers

This policy explains how LingoScript Ltd handles personal data on whoscribe.ai and in the WhoScribe app. It applies to visitors, free accounts and paid subscribers.

If you disagree with anything here, please do not upload files to the service. For questions, write to [email protected].

What we collect

We keep the data below for as long as your account is open, unless you delete it sooner.

• Account details — your name, email address, hashed password, and the profile picture and Google account identifier if you sign in with Google.
• Uploaded media — the audio and video files you send us, kept so we can process them and let you download the original again.
• Transcripts and translations — the text we generate from your media, including timestamps and speaker labels.
• Billing data — subscription status and plan. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.
• Technical records — IP address, browser type and server logs, used to keep the service running and to investigate abuse.

What we use it for

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your recordings or transcripts to train our own models.

• Turning your recordings into transcripts, translations and export files.
• Running your account, applying plan limits and processing payments.
• Sending service email such as password resets and billing notices.
• Diagnosing faults, preventing abuse and meeting legal obligations.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of processors to run the service. Your audio is sent to OpenAI to be transcribed; review their policy for how they handle API data.

Storage, retention and deletion

• Files and transcripts stay on our servers until you delete them or close your account.
• Deleting a transcript removes its text and its stored audio file.
• Deleting your account removes every transcript and audio file belonging to it. This cannot be undone.
• Backups and server logs may keep copies for a short period before they expire.

Share links

Turning on a share link makes that transcript readable by anyone who has the link, without signing in. The audio file is not shared, and the page asks search engines not to index it, but the link itself is not secret.

You can revoke a link at any time from the transcript page, which immediately stops it working.

Your rights

You can view and correct your details in account settings, export every transcript as DOCX, PDF, TXT, SRT or VTT, and delete your data at any time.

Depending on where you live you may also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, or to complain to a data protection authority. Write to [email protected] and we will respond.

Children

The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, contact [email protected] and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change affects you significantly, notify account holders by email.
