Terms of Service

The agreement

These terms form a contract between you and LingoScript Ltd for the use of WhoScribe. By creating an account or uploading a file you accept them.

Your account

• You need an account to transcribe files, and you must give an email address you control.
• Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person per account. Do not share credentials.

What you may upload

You must have the right to upload each file and to have it transcribed. That means you own the recording, or you have permission from whoever does, and you have met any consent requirements that apply to recording other people.

• Do not upload material that is unlawful where you are, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Do not use the service to harass, deceive, or process recordings obtained without consent where consent was required.
• Do not attempt to break, overload or reverse engineer the service, or to work around plan limits.

Plans, billing and cancellation

• The free plan gives 90 minutes a month; you can transcribe 3 files a day, up to 30 minutes per file.
• Unlimited is $10 per month billed yearly ($120), or $20 billed monthly, and allows files up to 10 hours and 5 GB, 50 at a time.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are taken by Stripe.
• You can cancel from your dashboard at any time; paid access continues to the end of the billing period already paid for.
• Prices may change, but never in the middle of a period you have already paid for.

Your content stays yours

You keep all rights to the media you upload and the transcripts produced from it. You grant us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your files, send audio to our transcription provider, generate transcripts and translations, and show them back to you.

That permission ends when you delete the content or close your account.

Accuracy

Transcription is automated and imperfect. Accuracy varies with audio quality, accent, background noise, overlapping speech and language. Speaker labels are an estimate.

Check the text before relying on it. Do not use WhoScribe output as the sole basis for legal, medical, financial or safety decisions.

Availability

We aim to keep the service running but do not promise uninterrupted availability. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, and we may need to take the service offline for maintenance.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that puts the service or other users at risk, or where we are required to do so by law. You can close your account at any time from account settings.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, LingoScript Ltd is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death, personal injury or fraud.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not remove protections you have under the law of the country you live in.
